Hey, photography lovers. This month, Popular Photography is carrying one of my photos on its cover. I was the sport category winner of the Annual Readers' Photography Contest in that magazine, and they picked my pic to be the face of the magazine for the month of April. Here's the cover:
This is my third publication in this magazine, but my first cover! It's a nice surprise that has made me feel appreciated and motivated to go make more images like this. Also in the news, Popular Photography has also published a book called, "The complete guide to portraits." Another of my images can be found printed there! Mine is the gymnast next to the number 191.
So I guess this is technically my fourth publication in Popular Photography if this counts. One of my goals for the year was to be published in 5 magazines, so I'm well on my way. I had also planned to win 5 or 10 contests (haha I guess I should go back and read my goals) and that's going well so far too. Also, I entered a local radio station's photo contest, since, well, I make photos for a living, and I won. So I also get a trip for 4 to Disneyland this year. Woohoo!
It sounds like I'm on a roll, but this is honestly just a two-week fluke. I don't really win 2 contests and get published 2 times every two weeks. Honest. But if I can help it, I will. I'd like to.
